One of the students of the Physical Education Health and Recreation (Penjaskesrek) Study Program of the Department of Sports Education, Faculty of Sport Sciences, Padang State University, namely Aulia Refni Gusanti became a Champion in Pencak Silat at the 2022 International Pencak Silat Indonesia Open Championship in the Adult Class E Women's category (65-70kg) at the Indonesian Pencak Silat Padepokan, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Jakarta on August 11-17, 2022 after defeating athletes from Malaysia in the Final round. This championship was attended by various domestic and foreign athletes. Apart from Indonesia, several countries that sent athletes were the Netherlands, Egypt, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan.
According to the accompanying coach, Weny Sasmitha, M.Pd who is also a lecturer at the Penjaskesrek FIK UNP Study Program, besides Aulia Refni Gusanti or who is usually called Butet, we also get 3rd place in the adult category of women's class A (45-50kg), an. Yuni Utari who is a student of the Sports Science Study Program of the Department of Health and Recreation FIK UNP. Furthermore, Weny also said that with this, Aulia Refni Gusanti's opportunity to enter the National Pelatnas will be very large, especially if at POMNAS which will be held in West Sumatra in November she can win.
Furthermore, the Coordinator of the Penjaskesrek Study Program, Drs. Zarwan, M.Kes was also very happy and expressed his appreciation to Aulia Refni Gusanti who had made West Sumatra and Indonesia in general and also the name of UNP in particular. And hopefully in the future more and more Penjaskesrek students will be able to make UNP proud at the National and International levels.
